Tom Bardin Jr., CLU
Tom grew up in the small town of Tarboro, NC. He attended Auburn University in 1969 where he played basketball for two years before transferring to Barton University. He continued his education and basketball pursuits and graduated from Barton with a degree in Business in 1973.
A year after his marriage to Lydia, Tom was elected to the Edgecombe County Board of Commissions and served two terms from 1982-1990. The opportunity to serve as chairman for 6 of those 8 years were especially rewarding for him.
From a business perspective, his career with The Equitable was progressing. With help from other sales associates, Tom was able to achieve membership in the company’s National Leaders Corps. and Industry recognition in the Million Dollar Round Table, on several occasions by the mid-1980’s. Meeting with new people to discuss their financial needs became fairly easy because many of them were involved in the same community service projects. Tom particularly enjoyed his work with the Tarboro Rotary Club, The Chamber of Commerce, and the Edgecombe County United Way.
In 1994, Tom accepted a sales position in Wilson, NC with Jefferson –Pilot (now Lincoln) and worked with them until 2015 when he returned to Equitable as a member of Sound Partners.
Tom is grateful to Sound Partners for offering him the opportunity to grow professionally and work with people that he admires and respects. As a group, Sound Partners can offer clients advice on a variety of planning concerns with assistance in growing and protecting their assets and community of service.
