Gentry "Ed" Porter, ChFC®, CLU
Ed is a native of Pitt County and attended J.H. Rose High School in Greenville. He graduated from East Carolina University in 1975 with a BS in Business and Distributive Education. He taught for six years before entering the Financial Services Business with The Equitable in February 1982. He has attained the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. Ed has also obtained series 6, 63, 65, 22, and 7 securities licenses. Ed along with his son Patrick, has begun working at Sound Partners, where they continue to provide financial services. Ed is a Court of the Table MDRT producer and a member of Equitable’s Hall of Fame. Ed and his wife Bonnie have been married for 45 years. In the community Ed has been active for many years in his church, The Memorial Baptist Church. He has served in many professional organizations and is a Past President of the Pitt Co. Insurance and Financial Advisors, University City Kiwanis Club, Rose High Athletic Boosters, and Pitt-Greenville Babe Ruth Baseball. Ed is committed to service to God, his family, his clients, and his community.
